Food Waste Investigation

I am passionate about filmmaking and video editing, so I brought in my own camera gear and equipment to film and edit this project alongside my middle school students.

We started by investigating our school canteen. To see if it was a broader issue, we expanded our research across Morocco and interviewed an environmental researcher at Ibn Tofail University. Our work won 1st place locally for video editing and 4th place overall.

To give my students a chance to use English naturally outside textbook lessons, I organized an international pen pal program with partner teachers in New Hampshire, United States. Our classes connected through live video sessions and built real friendships over time.

We exchanged cultural mystery packages filled with handwritten letters, postcards, drawings, snacks, and cultural gifts. We received a special gift box from New Hampshire and sent back Moroccan souvenirs, city postcards, and local treats, proving to students that English connects people across the world.

Authentic English Speaking Across Borders

In this video, my primary students speak directly with their pen pals from the United States in real time. Seeing their American peers on screen transformed English from a classroom subject into a genuine tool for connection, and for months afterward, it was all the students talked about!

This experience made English their favorite subject. It sparked immense enthusiasm as students proactively asked questions to improve their communication skills. Following our initial two week video sessions with partner teachers abroad, we expanded into a year long pen pal project with letters and cultural exchange packages exchanged continuously.

Student News Report and Arabic Language Day

I led a broadcast journalism activity with my middle school students to create an authentic news program. The students took on distinct roles as news anchors, weather presenters, and roving reporters.

The broadcast opened with a local weather update for our city and moved into live field reporting on our school Arabic Language Day event, featuring student interviews, poster exhibits, and play preparations, giving students practical public speaking experience in English.

Confidence Building School News Video

Encouraging Hesitant English Speakers

In this school news video covering student hobbies and free time activities, I intentionally chose to involve students who were previously hesitant or less confident speaking English.

Through step by step guidance, encouraging coaching, and structured interview prompts, these students built the confidence to host and speak on camera for our news broadcast. The results were inspiring, as both the students and their parents were extremely proud to see their progress featured on our school news program.

Building Suspense and Student Participation

I created this promotional intro video with my students as a teaser before launching our official school news series. We set it to play on a continuous loop on the TV screen in our school reception area.

Parents and school visitors loved seeing the video when they walked in. The teaser generated a lot of excitement among students, leading to a huge wave of signups from students who wanted to join our news team and practice speaking English on camera.

Neighbourhood Map and Speaking Activity

After finishing our classroom module about houses around the world, my primary students and I created a hands on map building project. The students worked together to create a map of their own neighbourhood and then presented their work on video.

The results of this activity were fantastic. At the end of the project, I found that 80 percent of the students were able to confidently talk about different types of houses around the world and describe their own neighbourhood in English.

Celebrating Cultural Identity and Heritage

As part of a special school event, both my middle school and primary school students came together to celebrate Amazigh Day in Morocco. In this short reel video, students share their thoughts, history, and traditions, expressing their personal pride in their cultural roots.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to speak on camera, share positive opinions, and celebrate unity together. The event brought everyone closer, creating a joyful space for students to talk and honor their heritage with respect and enthusiasm.

On our school trips, the primary aim is to give students a real world environment to practice English. As their teacher, I make it a point to communicate entirely in English during our trips.

Even though students sometimes attempt to speak in the local language or Arabic, I always respond in English. They understand completely without any confusion, which encourages them to listen actively and build confidence speaking English.

I accompanied and guided our students during an official robotics and artificial intelligence formation workshop organized by the Ministry of Education in Casablanca Barnousi.

Throughout the trip, I helped students understand complex robotics concepts, encouraged them to ask active questions, and supported their full participation in hands on building and programming activities.

Motivating Students Through Career Inspiration

For our special Job Day event, I invited different professionals to visit our class to motivate students, encourage them to study hard, and inspire them about their future careers.

One of our special guest speakers was Badr, an airline pilot flying Airbus aircraft. He shared his aviation journey, answered questions from the students, and showed them that big dreams are achievable through hard work and dedication.
